Objectives of the Department of Academic Affairs

ensuring the effective functioning of the educational process in accordance with the requirements of the credit educational system. The department’s activities are aimed at improving the quality of accounting for students’ academic achievements, as well as organizing the planning and implementation of objective, transparent knowledge control.

The tasks of the Department of Academic Affairs:

  • Ensuring management of the processes of maintaining and registering the academic history of students;
  • Coordinating the formation of individual educational trajectories;
  • Organizing the registration of students for academic disciplines;
  • Ensuring the timely and high-quality provision of services in the interests of students;
  • Improving the functioning of the educational process;
  • Providing students with complete and reliable information upon their requests;
  • Improving the culture and quality of service to students;
  • Providing methodological and advisory support on academic issues.

Job responsibilities:

  • Registration and re-registration for disciplines, formation of individual educational plans;
  • Determination of academic differences or academic debt;
  • Registration of academic leave;
  • Issuance of certificates, academic certificates, transcripts;
  • Change of email for entering https://uib.academo.kz/;
  • Organization of the summer semester, retakes of academic debts, passing of academic differences;
  • Provision of information assistance to students;
  • Keeping records of students’ academic performance;
  • Preparation of statements required for conducting current, midterm and final assessments;
  • Formation and preparation of summary statements based on the results of midterm and final assessments;
  • Maintenance and issuance of the current transcript and diploma supplement (transcript), transfer of students to the next academic year in accordance with the established GPA;
  • Organization and conduct of registration of students for elective disciplines;
  • Preparing a list of students from graduating courses who are eligible for an honours degree.

To solve the assigned tasks, the following is performed:

  • Receiving and registering applications on the educational process;
  • Reviewing and processing applications;
  • Accepting applications for all types of document processing online/offline depending on the request (certificates, academic certificates, transcripts);
  • Checking the completeness of the submitted documents;
  • Providing information assistance to students when applying to the
  • Department of Academic Affairs;
  • Working to develop an anti-corruption culture among the Department of Academic Affairs employees;
  • Consulting students in difficult and controversial situations on issues related to the educational process;
  • Carrying out other instructions from the University management.
